Gravel Hill School

Lunchtime at Gravel Hill provides the children with the opportunities to take part in a wide range of activities.

We have two halls where the children are able to eat their lunch alongside their friends. There are three separate playing areas for the children; one for KS1 and one for KS2.

Each playground is zoned so that the children have the following options:

The Make Believe Zone

The Quiet Zone

The Games Zone

The Skipping and Clapping Zone

The Traditional Games Zone

There is also an option of staying inside at Lunchtime Club, where you can play traditional board games, draw, learn a new skill such as knitting, play Lego and race with toy cars.

A hot lunch is available to pupils each day at Gravel Hill supplied by Independent Catering who work in partnership with the London Borough of Bexley to provide school dinners in many of the Borough's schools.

Meals are cooked on the premises using fresh, locally sourced, seasonal food.  A copy of the menu is available from the school office.  Above is a link to a copy of the current menu.

Please be aware that there may be occasions when the menu needs to be changed at the last minute, due to unforeseen circumstances such as deliveries of ingredients not arriving at the required time.

School dinners currently cost £2.50 per day .  Please send dinner money into school in a sealed envelope clearly marked with your child's name.

Free school meals are available to families in receipt of certain benefits.  The process of applying for free school meals is very simple.  For more information please ask at the school office or telephone Bexley Council on 020 8303 7777.
